Introducing Pitch Bend Control on AirMotion: Expression Through Head Movement

With the latest firmware update, Papritech AirMotion now supports pitch bend control via head movement, allowing musicians to bend pitch left or right naturally—available on all AirMotion versions and easily enabled through a firmware update and the latest mobile app.

From the very beginning, Papritech AirMotion was designed to give musicians expressive control through breath and motion. Initially, AirMotion focused on delivering precise MIDI CC control, allowing artists to shape dynamics, timbre, and articulation naturally.

But as our community grew, so did the ideas—and one request came up again and again: pitch bend control.

We listened.

From MIDI CC to Pitch Bend Expression

Many AirMotion users expressed their desire to control pitch bend using head movement, bringing guitar-like bends and wind-instrument nuances into their performances. This feedback inspired us to expand AirMotion’s expressive capabilities beyond MIDI CC alone.

With the latest firmware update, AirMotion now supports pitch bend control via head motion.

  • Move your head to the left to bend pitch down
  • Move your head to the right to bend pitch up

This motion-based approach feels intuitive, musical, and deeply expressive—turning physical movement into real-time pitch control.

Available on All AirMotion Versions

The pitch bend feature is available on:

  • AirMotion Lite
  • AirMotion Plus
  • AirMotion Pro

Even if you own an older AirMotion device, you’re not left behind. Thanks to firmware updates, all existing AirMotion units can gain pitch bend functionality.

Easy Firmware Update for Existing Users

To enable pitch bend control, users can update their device firmware via:

Once updated, your AirMotion instantly gains access to pitch bend control—no hardware changes required.

Mobile App: Assign, Customize, Calibrate

To fully take advantage of this new feature, users should:

  • Download the latest version of the AirMotion mobile app from the Play Store or App Store
  • Assign pitch bend to head motion if desired
  • Calibrate the motion sensor to match personal playing style and comfort

This flexibility allows each musician to decide how subtle or dramatic their pitch bends should feel.

Designed by Listening to Musicians

The addition of pitch bend control is a direct result of community feedback. By combining breath, motion, and now pitch bending, AirMotion becomes an even more expressive musical instrument—one that adapts to the way musicians actually play.

AirMotion continues to evolve not just as a controller, but as a living platform shaped by the artists who use it.

Breathe. Move. Bend.
And let your expression lead the sound.
